24-Hour service for geared motors from Siemens Mechanical Drives

Round-the-clock service for a comprehensive range of geared motors and couplings has been introduced by Siemens Mechanical Drives, part of Siemens Industry Automation & Drive Technologies.

After a recent factory relocation to Leeds in West Yorkshire, Siemens Mechanical Drives is now offering 24-hour service facilities for the well-established and field proven Siemens Motox range of geared motors in up to size 148, along with Flender couplings.

Siemens service manager Gary Husband said the improved service had been welcomed by key customers, such as in the food and beverage industry, where a production line breakdown could mean expensive losses and where fast service turnaround was essential: “Being able to supply our Motox units to Siemens customers and partners in a range of sizes means we can provide a much improved out-of-hours service. We can build units to precise customer requirements through the night and at weekends if required for emergency requests.”

Most common gear unit sizes are covered under the new service scheme, from size 38 up to size 148. Geared motors can be inline, right-angled or shaft-mounted with torques of up to 10,000Nm.
