Christmas may be a time for children but a Chorley based cookery school is making sure that adults get a sweet slice of the action too – be it mincemeat, chocolate log or cheesecake!
Normally known for its children’s cookery workshops, Play Chefs’ is putting aside all things childish for a couple of evenings in the run up to Christmas to give adults the chance to escape the festive frenzy at home and whip up some fabulous desserts for their Christmas table, whilst enjoying mulled wine, mince pies and the prospect of no washing up!
“The idea behind these workshops is to give adults the chance to take some time out before Christmas when they know that they can enjoy getting their Christmas baking done in a relaxing environment, without any interruptions, and without having to worry about buying the right ingredients, having all the right equipment or doing any clearing up. All they have to do is turn up and two hours later head home with their freshly made desserts ready to serve to family and friends. What could be easier?!,” says Chrissie Hirst, owner of Play Chefs.
On Tuesday 22 December, from 7.30pm – 9.30pm, people can come and have fun baking and decorating a fabulous array of Christmas cupcakes to enjoy at home or give away as – delicious looking and tasting - presents.
A Christmas chocolate log, a mincemeat or fruit slice, and a white chocolate and strawberry cheesecake are all dishes of the day on Play Chefs’ Christmas Baking Workshop, which will take place on Wednesday 23 December from 7.30pm-9.30pm. All three puddings will last across the Christmas holiday period.
The price for each workshop is £25 per person and includes all the ingredients, the mulled wine and mince pies, and use of the equipment. The workshops will take place in the Play Chefs Cookery Room at Coppull Enterprise Centre, Mill Lane, Coppull, Chorley, PR7 5BW.
