FOOTPRINT LAUNCHES NEW TWEET DISPENSER

Footprint has developed a new social media management tool that enables users to pre-plan an automated Twitter campaign for a week, a month or even a year.

The Tweet Dispenser is aimed specifically at businesses that can plan some of their activities in advance, such as events, seminars, product launches or promotional offers; this makes it perfect for sectors such as travel, tourism, health and beauty which are industries that Footprint has in-depth experience in.

“Although Twitter is all about social interaction, and you can’t pre-plan that, the beauty of the Tweet Dispenser is that, once it’s been set up, it will send out a constant stream of tweets and status updates without you having to do a thing, be at your desk, or even have your computer switched on! This saves you hours and hours of time that you can spend doing other things and is a vital part of building a decent Twitter following,” explains Footprint’s Jay Commins, who created the Tweet Dispenser.

Other benefits of Footprint’s Tweet Dispenser are:
· Tweets can be timed so that they go out at the best time for your recipients – whether that is 9.00am on a Monday morning, or 11pm on a Saturday night!
· Your hyperlinks will be automatically shortened so that they take up the minimum of space on your 140 character tweets
· Your tweets will be displayed in Facebook, too, with the option of having almost unlimited explanatory copy for people who want to know more, as well as a link to your website

As a bonus, the same information can be used to offer an RSS feed from your website, giving your customers and prospective customers a further way of keeping up to date.

“This is also a great tool for keeping your website fresh. Search engines rank regularly updated websites more highly, so this really does help in many different ways,” adds Jay.

The Tweet Dispenser is also a useful tool to help build a following of people who are genuinely interested in your products and services, which is the ultimate goal of any social media campaign.

The technique encourages organic growth over a period of months as you continue to tweet, and also means that if you have a particularly quiet period when you want to run a promotion or similar at very short notice, you already have a captive audience of people interested in buying from you.

Footprint charges a flat fee to set up the system* (*includes linking to your existing Facebook and Twitter accounts), and then a small fee for every 50 Tweets or updates you want to schedule.
