Case study - Newsletters Footprint researches, writes and manages the production and print of newsletters for a number of clients in different industries, including Uponor, a leading manufacturer of pipes and fittings for the multi-utility market. As Uponor’s PR and marketing consultants, Footprint set up a monthly customer newsletter, called UPdate, in February 1997 and has written every issue since. In April 2002 UPdate went to a larger format issued quarterly and Footprint is currently working on issue 75! A survey undertaken by Footprint to evaluate the effectiveness of Uponor’s communications with its customers recorded a very high response in favour of the UPdate newsletter. It was a very well recognised communication tool and one of the things that customers liked about Uponor. Those that didn’t get it wanted to, and those that did found it useful, especially information like price rises or legislation changes.
